UPDATE: I just got back from the store at Portage & Frank and spoke with Manager Mike (who is extremely nice!) and he has personally gone to bat for all his customers over this issue with Corporate so go visit his store! You will be able to get 4 bottles of Purex with 2 BOGO coupons and pay only the tax. (Limit of 4 per customer). Those coupons expire tomorrow!
Something else Mike mentioned, and I certainly hope it wasn't one of the readers of couponallies.com, several customers were in his store earlier this week upset over this deal and specifically, one customer was there this past Monday and cursed him out, because he was not honoring the BOGO sale/coupon to their satisfaction. He said it ruined his day. In no way do I, or couponallies.com, condone this kind of behavior. If you have a disagreement with a cashier or store manager over their coupon policy, then just don't shop there. Call their customer service number and complain, but please, treat them with courtesy, respect and dignity. They really are trying to do their jobs and follow the rules as they've been trained.
Walgreen's has Purex Laundry Detergent on sale through Saturday ~ BOGO ($5.99)
Use your Buy One Get One FREE coupon from 02/21/10 RP (expires 03/06/10)
BOTH WILL BE FREE! + tax
And, should you run into any problems about both being FREE, explain it to them this way...
If you go into the store with cash to buy two of these detergents you would pay $5.99 for two, right?
Well, if you have the BOGO coupon, then the coupon takes the place of the $5.99 cash out of your pocket - the manufacturer will reimburse the store $5.99 + $.08 handling fee. The other one is STILL free!
This is the way BOGO sales combined with BOGO coupons are supposed to work.
By the way, it worked just fine for me today - no problems at all!
There are reports coming in that some Walgreens stores are not honoring the BOGO sale with the BOGO coupon correctly. Unfortunately, Walgreens does not have a corporate-wide policy on coupon redemption. They leave it up to the individual store managers. My suggestion is to politely explain the above to the manager and if he/she isn't willing to honor your coupon, then call Walgreens Corporate Customer Service number. Enough people calling could effect change!

Do you mind telling me which Walgreens you went to? My Walgreens just didn't understand the whole using a BOGO coupon with a BOGO sale.

I hear the Perry one on W. Tusc is honoring the BOGO, but they got a new shipment on Wed and the shelf was empty by 7 pm when I got there.

Thanks for the tip on Walgreen's deal. Barberton let me buy 10 and all I paid was tax of $ 1.95.

GREAT JOB! Woo Hoo for the store in Barberton!

The Whipple store took off $3 instead of the full $5.98. Seems silly to me because they are only getting $3 back from the manufacturer, so the store isn't gaining anything from it. Still I got 4 bottles for a total of $6 so I won't complain over $1.50 laundry detergent.

I just called Consumer Relations and let them know that they need a coupon policy. I explained it all out to her and she said would write it up and send the suggestion in for me.
