Update Monday 6/27/11: I returned to the Discount Drug Mart on Portage on Friday to purchase this product and while checking out, the cashier asked the Supervisor if the coupon was allowed. The Supervisor looked at it and said "Yes, we just got a memo on that one... We have to eat it". I responded to her and said "No, you won't, it's a manufacturer's coupon and your store will get reimbursed." She didn't seem convinced but backed off. I was still shocked by the attitudes that the store staff display to customers about this whole issue. I did get this confirmed again today by the coupon processing agent for Kimberly Clark. A representative called me back today and said that this coupon is valid at ALL retailers!
UPDATE FRIDAY 6/24/11: This issue has been resolved. The coupon WILL be accepted at all Discount Drug Mart stores. Their Corporate Office is notifying the stores. Yay!
UPDATE: I went to Discount Drug Mart today to redeem my coupons on this product. However, I was met with a refusal to take my coupons. The manager said that the Manufacturer's Coupon for Scott Bathroom Tissue was not redeemable at his store since it says "Redeemable at Dollar General". I politely disagreed with him since the coupon is a manufacturer's coupon and the bar code starts with 5. If he had attempted to scan it, it would have. Their unwritten policy is to accept manufacturer's coupons if they scan! But, he refused. He was concerned that Kimberly Clark would not reimburse him for taking it. So, I have been in contact with Kimberly Clark and Discount Drug Mart's Corporate Office today but haven't been able to talk with the right person yet. I have left messages both by phone and online so I hope to have an answer tomorrow. Will keep you all updated!
